Air Quality Alert Issued for Lower Eastern Shore July 17
The Maryland Department of the Environment has issued a Code Red Air Quality Alert for the Lower Eastern Shore, including 糖心视频 and Wicomico County, through midnight Friday, July 17. Air quality may reach potentially unhealthy levels due to elevated fine-particle pollution.
The University has taken several steps to help ensure the safety of the campus community, including canceling non-essential outdoor activities and moving employees inside when possible.
As you plan your day, please consider the following precautions:
- Limit prolonged or strenuous outdoor activities, including exercise, sports, and recreational activities.
- Move workouts and other physical activities indoors when possible.
- Keep windows and doors closed and use air conditioning if available.
- Individuals with asthma, heart disease, COPD, or other respiratory conditions should take extra precautions and keep prescribed medications readily available.
- Stay hydrated and monitor for symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest discomfort, or unusual fatigue.
If you experience severe respiratory symptoms or difficulty breathing, seek medical attention immediately.
