SU's Summer Enrichment Academies Return for 2026

SALISBURY, MD---糖心视频’s Summer Enrichment Academies (SEA) return for 2026 with an extensive lineup of educational and entertaining opportunities for local youth. Registration is now open.
Each academy, geared toward elementary, middle, and high school students, lasts five to 10 days. They include a series of topics that allow students to learn more about areas for which they have a passion from University faculty and industry experts.
Academies include:
- Eastern Shore Writers Project: Young Writers Workshop (Grades 3-5), 9 a.m.-1 p.m., June 22-26: Students discover the joy of creative writing in this fun-filled academy. Students explore writing in a playful, relaxed environment, using exciting prompts and activities to spark their imagination, collaborate and share ideas with their friends, and build confidence. On the last day of the academy, they celebrate their creations during an “open mic” event. Includes “all-you-care-to-eat” lunch at the Commons dining hall. Cost is $250.
- Mixed Media Art (Grades 3-6), 1-4 p.m., July 6-10: This academy is where students experiment with materials like paint, clay, collage, and fibers to create bold and unique artwork that shows their personalities. They explore indoor and outdoor projects for inspiration while making new friends and collaborating on art adventures. Cost is $200.
- Vision in Motion: Blind Sports (Grades 3-12), 9 a.m.-1 p.m., July 6-10: Vision in Motion invites students to experience the thrill of blind soccer, goalball, and track. They build confidence, master sensory-based athletic skills, and connect with a community that plays without limits. Includes “all-you-care-to-eat” lunch at the Commons dining hall. Cost is $250.
- Comics (Grades 3-6), 9 a.m.-1 p.m., July 6-10: The Comics Academy encourages students to unleash their imagination by creating superheroes, magical worlds, and exciting stories. In a fun and supportive studio setting, young artists explore drawing, painting, collage making, writing, and storytelling to collaborate on imaginative projects and activities. Includes “all-you-care-to-eat” lunch at the Commons dining hall. Cost is $250.
- Art and Nature (Grades 3-6), 9 a.m.-1 p.m., July 13-17: Students discover the beauty of SU’s campus while gathering ideas and objects to create imaginative masterpieces with their outdoor discoveries. They make sun prints, paintings, sculptures, wind catchers, birdhouses, and other nature-inspired art. Includes “all-you-care-to-eat” lunch at the Commons dining hall. Cost is $250.
- Games (Grades 3-6), 1-4 p.m., July 13-17: Kids will invent their own board and card games – from creating fun characters and exciting rules to designing game boards. Through teamwork and playtesting, young designers develop skills in strategy, imagination, and problem-solving, all while bringing their unique games to life. Cost is $200.
- All About Health (Grades 6-8), 9 a.m.-1 p.m., July 13-17: Explore the heart, lungs, muscles, and mind through interactive activities designed for curious young learners. Students meet real healthcare professionals who use their skills every day, and also spend half a day at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional to see healthcare in action. Includes “all-you-care-to-eat” lunch at the Commons dining hall. Cost is $250.
- College and Career Readiness (Grades 9-12), 9 a.m.-4 p.m., July 13-17: Teens build their future with confidence in this academy, where they are empowered to navigate college options and develop essential life skills. Through engaging, hands-on experiences, students learn to navigate the transition from high school to college and/or the workplace. They set goals, discover their career interests, understand college pathways, build financial literacy, perfect their resume-building and interview skills, and more. This academy gives them the tools to plan, prepare, and succeed. Includes “all-you-care-to-eat” lunch at the Commons dining hall. Cost is $450.
- Environmental Literacy Through Outdoor Exploration (Grades 7-10), 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Jul 13-17: Students experience hands-on science, outdoor activities, leadership skills, and real environmental investigations. This academy allows them to explore ecosystems up close, boost confidence and teamwork skills, and develop a deeper understanding of the environment. Students enrolling in this academy must be proficient swimmers. Includes “all-you-care-to-eat” lunch at the Commons dining hall. Cost is $450.
- Live Action Film 1 (Grades 3-6), 9 a.m.-4 p.m., July 20-24: The Live Action Film Academy 1 is where young filmmakers can bring their creative stories to life. They write, act, and produce their own short films. They also gain experience creating storyboards, filming scenes, and using video editing software. On the last day of the academy, the young filmmakers showcase their creations to their family and friends. Includes “all-you-care-to-eat” lunch at the Commons dining hall. Cost is $450.
- Live Action Film 2 (Grades 7-10), 9 a.m.-4 p.m., July 27-31: The Live Action Film Academy 2 becomes a dynamic, collaborative studio where emerging filmmakers transform their ideas into polished on-screen stories. Students take on real production roles as they write, direct, film, and edit their own live-action short films, gaining hands-on experience with the full creative process. Includes “all-you-care-to-eat” lunch at the Commons dining hall. Cost is $450.
- Creative Writing for Teens (Grades 9-12), 9 a.m.-1 p.m., July 27-31: In this dynamic and inspiring academy, teens unlock their storytelling potential. Through engaging workshops, personalized mentor feedback, and collaborative projects, students explore fiction, poetry, and storytelling. They sharpen their writing skills in a supportive setting while building confidence and expressing their unique voice. They are empowered to create stories that matter while having fun and making new friendships. Includes “all-you-care-to-eat” lunch at the Commons dining hall. Cost is $250.
- Deep Dive into Reading (Grades 9-12), 1-4 p.m., July 27-31: This academy offers a deep dive into author Paul Griffin’s The Orange Houses. Through lively discussions, close reading, and fun activities, students explore character development and literary themes, sharpen their analytical skills, and boost their confidence. The students and their peers connect literature to their own experiences in a supportive setting. Cost is $200.
- Creative Connections (Grades 4-8), 9 a.m.-4 p.m., July 27-31: Designed for students age 9-13, Creative Connections is an energetic enrichment academy that transforms learning into an adventure. Through engaging activities like building, cooking, budgeting, and pitching ideas – paired with games and teamwork – students develop confidence, creativity, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Includes “all-you-care-to-eat” lunch at the Commons dining hall. Cost is $450.
