Bio

Dr. Sherry A. Maykrantz is an Associate Professor of Public Health. She teaches undergraduate courses in health communications and U.S. healthcare delivery and leads study abroad programs in Austria and Spain. She was named a 2025–26 U.S. Fulbright Scholar and will teach in the Czech Republic.

Research Interests

Her research focuses on how self‑leadership, psychological capital, and trust shape health behaviors and engagement with healthcare. Her work spans U.S. and international contexts, with recent research and teaching experiences in Europe as a Fulbright Scholar. She is especially interested in how individuals understand and navigate healthcare systems across different cultural settings, with the goal of informing approaches that support healthier communities and population‑level well‑being.
Teaching Philosophy

I strive to create a learning environment where students feel seen, supported, and capable of meaningful growth. My teaching emphasizes helping students identify and build on their strengths through reflection, revision, and collaborative learning. I incorporate real‑world, problem-solving from different perspectives to deepen engagement. Above all, I aim to foster a flexible, inclusive space where students feel connected, confident, and motivated to take ownership of their learning.
